What's a Virtual Paint Party?
Our Virtual Paint Parties are a fun and creative way to unwind and try something new in the comfort of your own home. You'll be able to join us live online to paint, unwind and find your creativity.
It'll be recorded so you can watch the replay anytime if you can't make the live event.
We’ll show you, step by step, how to create the featured painting. It's totally easy, and you don't need any experience. Wear your pyjamas, your onesies or whatever you’re comfy in. Grab a glass of wine and turn it into a wine and paint party!
It's a great way to have some fun while creating a painting. Our artist will provide you with easy to follow, step by step, instructions to create your masterpiece from start to finish.

How do I join a Virtual Paint Party?
Decide which Virtual Paint Party you'd like to join from our upcoming virtual events and purchase your ticket to reserve your spot.
Once we receive your payment we’ll send you an email with an invite to join a private Facebook group where we’ll live stream your Virtual Paint Party at the scheduled time.
Get your art supplies ready and log in to Facebook to join us live at the time/day of your event.
Join Paint Club and get a new virtual painting tutorial every month!
Where will my Virtual Paint Party be held?
At your place! We'll live stream from our studio to your phone, iPad, computer or any internet connected device.
Our Virtual Paint Parties are live streamed over the internet so you can paint with us from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, or anywhere else in New Zealand or even the world. As long as you have an internet connection, and a device to watch on, you can join the painting fun from anywhere.
What materials will I need?
You'll need a canvas (or something to paint on), some paint and some brushes! We'll send you a full supply and colour list when you purchase your Virtual Paint Party ticket or join Paint Club, so you'll know exactly which brushes and colours to get.

What if I don't have the recommended art supplies?
If you're currently in lockdown and/or can't get out of the house to buy art supplies, you can order online and have them delivered from most places that stock art supplies.
Or you can do a scavenger hunt around your house and see what you can find. Don't worry if you don't have the exact materials on our recommended supplies list, you can use whatever you want like colour pencils, pastels, marker pens, watercolour paint and there's lots of other things you can paint on instead of canvas.

What if I've never painted before and can't even draw a stick figure?
No problem. Our Paint Parties are created especially for people who've never painted before or feel they lack any creative ability. If you think you're not creative or artistic - we're here to help you unleash your inner artist and have fun doing it.
With our easy to follow step-by-step guidance just about any non-artist can create a painting so there's no need to feel nervous. The aim is to have fun and relax, regardless of your painting skills.
What will I be painting?
Each Paint Party features a different painting. We've created a selection of paintings for you to choose from. Just select the one you'd like to paint from our Upcoming Virtual Events.
Our paintings are mostly based on local Wellington and NZ themes because quite simply, our country is gorgeous and full of kiwi awesome and we know you'll love painting our home grown content. You'll get to choose paintings of our stunning scenery and wildlife. Read more on 'Our Paintings' page.
How should I prepare for my Virtual Paint Party?
Gather all the recommended supplies and set up a comfortable space to paint, preferably with good lighting. Recommended supply lists are provided for each event.
You'll also need an internet connected device to view your event. Check it's fully charged or make sure it's plugged in.
Grab a drink and some snacks and wear whatever you're comfy in (and don't mind getting a little paint on).
I've got my ticket but haven't received my email to join the party?
You should have received your email as soon as you booked your ticket. If you didn't, check your Junk and Spam folders for an email from Heart for Art. If you find our email there, please add us to your address book so you'll get any further emails from us.
If someone else has booked for you, check with them for any information you need. If you still can't find it send us an email and we can send it again.
I've downloaded the supply list but cant find it?
If it doesn't open automatically, your computer should save it to your downloads folder. Everyone's computer has its own settings, so if your downloads are set to save somewhere else just do a search for the file name. If you still can't find it, contact us and we can email it to you.
Do I need to get a ticket beforehand?
Yes, in order to secure a spot and access to the live stream, you'll need to get your ticket at least 24hrs in advance. We're unable to give access once your Paint Party has started.
Do I have to paint the featured painting?
No. You're free to follow what our artist is teaching, or, if you want to add your own creative touches, choose your own colours or paint something else ... go for it! We encourage all creativity!
What if I can't keep up with the tutor?
Our artist will allow a little time for you to complete each step. If you do get a little behind, you'll be able to watch the replay after the event finishes, so you'll can complete your masterpiece at your own pace.
When should I be ready?
It pays to have everything you need set up at least 5-10 minutes before your Virtual Paint Party starts. Then you'll have time to make sure your internet connection is working ok for the live stream.
How often do you have Virtual Paint Parties?
We'll fit these in wherever we can between our in studio Paint Parties and private events. Keep an eye on our upcoming events.
What if I missed my Virtual Paint Party?
No problem, it'll be recorded so you'll be able to watch the replay any time after the event.
Are Virtual Paint Parties suitable for children?
Yes absolutely! We recommend ages 7 and older. Depending on the age of your child, some of our paintings may be a little harder to do. We've noticed that kids actually often do better than our adult painters 'cos they're not nervous about trying things!!
Do I need to download any software to join/view a Virtual Paint Party?
Nope. As long as you have a Facebook account there's no need to download any new software or signup for any new accounts - nice and easy.
Will I be able to ask questions during my Virtual Paint Party?
Of course! Our goal is to make sure you have a fun, relaxing time AND create a painting you love, so you'll be able to ask questions via the comments. Our artist will need to keep painting, but will be able to answer your questions between steps.
I'm not in New Zealand, can I still join your Virtual Paint Parties?
Absolutely. Just use a timezone converter to check what time it'll be in your country. If the Virtual Paint Party you want to join happens at at time that's not suitable in your timezone, you can still grab a ticket and watch the replay anytime later. You'll have 24/7 access to watch whenever suits.

What's your refund/cancellation policy?
All tickets are sold on a no refund, exchange or cancellation basis. No shows will not be rescheduled or refunded.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
We sure do. Our gift vouchers are like giving two presents 'cos you're gifting an awesome art experience AND they'll end up with their own finished painting!
What's the copyright on your paintings?
All our paintings are created especially for you to enjoy during your online or in-person painting session only. We (Heart for Art) hold the copyright and intellectual property for all our paintings and any notes or videos that go with them, so you can’t reuse or reproduce them in any form, anywhere, no matter how much you like them. Heart for Art reserves the right to delay or cancel any Paint Party at any time due to class size, internet outages, sickness, etc. And, we wanna stay in business so we gotta make sure we cover our overheads. That means we need minimum numbers to run a Paint Party.
