What's a Paint Party?

A Paint Party (or a "social painting event") is a great way to have fun with friends while creating a painting.

Join an In Studio Paint party and we'll provide you with everything you need, including easy to follow, step by step, instructions from our artist to create your painting from start to finish. Best of all, you'll get to take home your masterpiece to hang on the wall and say "Wow, I painted that" every time you see it.

It's a super laid back atmosphere and a great way for you to find your creativity in a safe and supportive space while socialising with others who are painting for the first time too.

So what happens at a Paint Party?

Paint Parties are a super FUN and creative way to unwind and try something new.

At your Paint Party you'll enjoy a guided painting session created especially for people who've never painted before or feel they lack any creative ability. If you think you're not creative or artistic - we're here to change that and help you unleash your inner artist. 

Each Paint Party features a specific painting and with our step-by-step guidance just about any non-artist will be able to create the painting, so there's no need to feel nervous that yours wont look like everyone else's. 

We've created paintings that everyone will be able to finish within the 3-4 hour session. Just bring an open mind and the ability to have fun and we'll make sure you leave with a finished painting you'll be proud to hang on your wall.

Enjoy the full artistic experience. Heart for Art is the only art studio based social painting business in Wellington. Our art studio is chock full of colour and creative inspiration. We've got all the arty gear for you to use, like a proper artist palette, loads of brushes to work with, colour wheels and rainbow pencils to name a few.

We don't do normal or boring so we've filled our studio with loads of funky, cool, arty things to give your a properly arty environment to paint in. We've even got a collection of art books to inspire you. 

With good tunes playing you can truely relax and let the arty vibes get you in Paint Party mode. It's a super laid back atmosphere and a great way for you to find your creativity in a safe and supportive space while socialising with others who are painting for the first time too.

More paint time and a bigger canvas. Our Paint Parties are 3-4 hours. We don't want you to feel rushed so we're giving you plenty of time to make your masterpiece super awesome. And with a nice big canvas your painting will look even more amazing when you take it home and hang it on the wall.

Paint unique local themed paintings.  We all know that New Zealand is stunningly beautiful and Wellington is the coolest little capital in the world. (It's true, just ask Mr Google).

All the kiwi gorgeousness has inspired us to create local themed paintings, based on all the things we love that make Aotearoa unique.

All your favourite places, beaches and bays, favourite animals and plants; tuis, dolphins, korus, ferns and loads more. We're constantly creating so check back for new paintings. Select your favourite 

What's included?

• A 3-4 hour step by step guided painting session led by our artist
• Everything you need to create your masterpiece including:
• high quality 16 x 20 inch stretched canvas (that's approx 40cm x 50cm)
• acrylic paint,
• brushes, and
• most importantly, inspiration!
• Your finished painting to take home and hang on your wall. NB colours may vary from painting shown ... 'cos you can totally decide to change them and do any colours you want!

What's the format?

Arrive 15 minutes before your Paint Party starts. That'll give you time to grab a refreshment, mingle and get settled in. We'll give you a paint shirt to wear so you wont get paint on your clothes. And just to make it fun and get you in the mood they're "loud" paint shirts. If there's time, you can choose what music you'd like to listen too.

Painting happens. Our artist will give you step by step guidance to paint the featured painting. We'll give you plenty of time to complete each step and give one-on-one guidance where we can. Our paintings are created especially for people who've never painted before 

Half time, break time. Take a short break and grab a complimentary refreshment and snack ... or keep going. It can be pretty exciting when you discover your creativity and you might not want to stop. Up to you.

More painting happens. We've created paintings that everyone will be able to finish within the 3-4 hour session. We'll keep you on track to make sure you leave with a finished painting you'll be proud to hang on your wall.

Group photo. We'll snap a shot (or 2) to record the momentous day you found your Heart fo Art and became an artist. 

Go home and hang your painting and be impressed by your achievement every time you walk past it thinking "WOW I painted that, awesome."
